Integrating techno in teaching geometry
The presentation for this week was about Cabri Geometry, a program or software which could be used in class for teaching and exploring geometry. Using the software, teacher might be able to exploit variety skills in presenting and solving problems regarding geometry. Using Cabri Geometry, teacher can show various types of geometry shapes immediately and rapidly without spending much time.

The group also introduced another useful software called Geometer’s Sketch Pad (or so-called GSP) in exploring geometry and graphs. Using the software, teacher might just relax and let pupils explore the software instead of the teacher teach, teach, teach, and explain about the topic all the time.

People like to claim that in learning graphs and geometry, teachers need to give time for pupils to do calculations and do drawings on their own. Teachers can’t easily use this kind of software and other technological programs to teach the topics. We as future generation need to make things clear to people outside that these kinds of softwares are very useful in teaching concepts. In teaching concepts, we CAN and even SHOULD use these kinds of softwares in the process of conducting successful and meaningful lessons.

Thanks to the group for introducing these useful softwares. Hope that future teachers would be able to integrate this useful technological into their lessons in their way to enhance our teaching profession.
